A New Beginning for Ballyclare High's Cricket Facilities
Former Vice Principal Honored with Naming of New Cricket Grounds
Fundraising Campaign Launched for Injured Skier
Ballyclare High School is proud to announce the official opening of its upgraded cricket facilities, made possible thanks to the generous support of the Tyrone Cricket Club (TCC). The new facilities include a state-of-the-art wicket, outfield, and practice nets, providing students with the opportunity to develop their cricketing skills in a world-class environment.
The opening ceremony was attended by dignitaries from the school, TCC, and the local community. Headmaster Mr. David Knox welcomed everyone in attendance, and paid special tribute to former Vice Principal Mr. Wilbert Hollinger. In recognition of Mr. Hollinger's contributions to the school's cricket program, the new facilities will be named Hollinger Park.
In a separate but related event, a fundraising effort has been launched to support Dave Hollinger, a former Ballyclare High student who sustained serious injuries in a skiing accident. The fundraising campaign aims to raise funds for Mr. Hollinger's medical expenses and ongoing rehabilitation.
Ballyclare High and the local community are proud to support both the new cricket facilities and the fundraising efforts for Dave Hollinger. These initiatives represent the ongoing commitment to providing opportunities for students and supporting members of the school community.
