Frank Christensen is one of the most decorated players in Utah football history.

A three-time All-American and two-time Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Player of the Year, Christensen led the Utes to their first bowl game in school history in 1964.

Early Life and Career

Christensen was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1944.

He attended South High School, where he was a standout football player.

Christensen was recruited to play at the University of Utah by legendary coach Ray Nagel.

College Career

Christensen played quarterback for the Utes from 1962 to 1964.

He was a dynamic playmaker who could beat defenses with his arm and his legs.

In 1964, Christensen led the Utes to a 9-2 record and their first bowl game, the Sun Bowl.

Professional Career

Christensen was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the second round of the 1965 NFL Draft.

He played for the Vikings for six seasons, helping them reach the Super Bowl in 1970.

Christensen retired from the NFL in 1971.

Legacy

Frank Christensen is one of the most successful football players in Utah history.

He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, the Utah Sports Hall of Fame, and the Utah Football Ring of Honor.
